Sunday's weather curtailed the planned brick session and limited me to a run. The wind was a slightly westerly for the first time in many months, so I set to and burnt the huge pile of cuttings, old hay etc. This took me all morning, and by the time I was ready to get out again it started to rain.
Not that I'm a fair weather rider (well, not much anyway), but there's plenty of time for that when the sun comes out, so I donned the running gear and got out for a 10 miler. The rain actually held off until about 5 miles, when it decided to hail and blow a gale, luckily it wasn't for long.
It was when I was approaching our village when the tummy started to complain a bit. It was more than likely the bumper handful (or 2) of cashews and raisins consumed just before I started out that had percolated through my system, wanting to see the light of day faster than I expected. Knowing this feeling, I knew I had to hold on until I was out the other side of the populated area and down our lane where hopefully there were no dog walkers. I had to walk a couple of times and concentrate on the job in hand (well, not in hand of course), and made it to the other side. I was about half way to the first field gateway when the nut/fruit mix decided it could not hold on any longer, had to quickly skip to the verge and pull my best Ron Hills down before a torrent......no more details please (ed).
Suffice to say, the last 2 miles were much faster.
