Mr Trump continues to say odd things whilst inching closer to his holy grail of another term in high office. No change there then. Beats me why so many Americans take him seriously. We have our own version of Trump testifying at the covid enquiry this week, which is a mix of reputation management and opinions. Quite a waste of public money in my opinion in that any recommendations will go nowhere unless the incumbent government allocates cash to it. I'm sure there will be plenty of 'we will do everything we can' type of promises, when they really mean ' we will say everything we can, but don't expect anything to happen'. Not that I think that's bad, but realistic. A bit like insurances. You can insure almost anything for any eventuality, but it will cost you dear, and there will be no appetite to spend money on something 'just in case'.
