Time, he's waiting in the wings...

Sometimes, I wish I had more time to do 'stuff', but when I step back it's probably that I don't mange what time I have very well.
This morning I intended to go for a run or get on the turbo, but I ended up doing neither.  Then I thought I would get into work early, leave early and make up for it that way by turboing (is that a word?) later on.  Now I have to call in somewhere else on the way home so I am now kicking myself for not getting out early as per the original plan.
So, the lesson learned is to never put off what you can do now.

..unless you're knackered of course.

Winter is Coming

Blimey, it was May when I past penned something here.  Triathlon training kicks in after Christmas so I must post updates on that to amuse myself at the very least.
Unfortunately, I have loads on at work so I need to up my planning game to fit it in.  5 years ago I had plenty of time, and still thought I was busy, nowadays I have no time and think I'm busy.  Wonder what the next 5 years will bring?

All the good slogans have gone.

Every now and then, a new catchy phrase or word is created to describe something new that accurately portrays when it is e.g.Brangelina for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.  Some big projects have also been known to be called exactly what they are, although none spring to mind at the moment (its an age thing).
Will we ever run out of possible permutations of the English language?  I often (at least once every 3 years) have similar thoughts about music, but were they also thinking that in Mozart's years?  There is a finite number of notes in an octave, and the human ear struggles with sound above and below particular frequencies so mathematically at least, there will be a fixed amount of combinations of notes that can be strung (ha ha!) together.  Maybe that explains why I can't create anything new.

Updates

Someone asked at the weekend about blogs, how they worked and how they are accessed, shared etc. and it suddenly dawned on me that I had one but hardly ever updated it, so here's an update.

Actually, 'update' is a bit of a misnomer when it's just a bit of rambling about whatever is in my mind at that time.  I'm not very good at recalling recent events, although I know that some people use this type of writing to help them do just that.
So thats it for today.

Off Roading.

This time last year I was getting some serious running mileage in as I contemplated doing something a bit different (for me) such as an ultra.  It ll came crashing down late Feb when my hamstrings decided to give up and slow me down for the next 10 months, but I feel I have about caught back up to where I was.  Managed a 15 miler yesterday which was mainly off road so considerably more difficult than a road only version.
I did manage to hobble round the Rotherham 50 miler in early Autumn, albeit mainly walking and I'm contemplating trying this again this year.  Not that I'll manage to run it all, but at least I have a target to beat.

First, I have to negotiate the Belvoir Challenge in 3 weeks time.  This is a 26 mile off roader that is notoriously muddy, but hopefully quite enjoyable.

Watch this space.
